School Events

Creativity, problem-solving and collaboration are all part of the Extension Program at Aranmore Catholic Primary School. These skills were put into action when the Year Six Extension Group built their Go-Karts out of recycled materials.

Building a sense of community is something Aranmore Catholic Primary School is actively committed to supporting. The buddy system is a practical way this is brought to life in both classrooms and play.

The Extension groups were treated to a fun afternoon of creativity, drama, problem-solving and teamwork by Libby Klysz from Black Swan Theatre.

On Tuesday, 20 October the Year Six Extension group was invited to participate in the Catholic Brainstorm Challenge Day at Scitech. There were over 150 participating students from both country and metropolitan Catholic Primary Schools. We celebrated Mercy Day on Friday, 25 September 2015.

The day began with a Mass which was celebrated by Fr Angelo in the School Hall. After Mass, Sr Kaye Bowell, a Mercy nun spoke with the community about the Mercy values and how we can incorporate those in our lives.

Aranmore Catholic Primary School hosted the Perth Primary Speakers Award on Thursday evening. It is a public speaking event organised by the Member for Perth, Mrs Eleni Evangel. Year Six student Sarah Kerr was chosen to represent our school and did extremely well on the night competing against other students.

Western Australia was well represented at the 12 year olds national AFL championship held in Geelong, Victoria this year, by Perth electorate local – Joshua Gibcus.

Science Week 2015 was an illuminating experience with the entire school from Pre-Kindy to Year Six all participating in a range of activities including kinetic sand, circuits, magnetic goo, snow and psylli slime.
