Netball – Match Reports

Well last week was the last game for the year 3 and 4 girls.  They have had a fantastic time and have played so incredibly well over the season.  I hope you had fun, and will be back again next year.

The year 5 and 6 teams have 2 more games, so we wish them the best of luck for those.

NetSetGo Clinics

Don’t forget to register for the NetSetGo clinics (for years 1-4) which will start at Aranmore on Friday 29th August.  Fun netball skills and games, run by Netball WA right here after school.  We have lots of girls doing this already, but still have plenty of room. To register, go to http://wa.netball.com.au/netsetgo/ and find the link for Aranmore

Spring season

Perth Netball has introduced a short spring season for both NetSetGo (years 3 + 4) and Juniors (years 5 + 6).  The games will be played on Wednesday afternoons, from Oct 14 – Nov 25 (7 games). At this stage I am just asking if people are interested to determine if we have enough to form teams, and if we have coaches/support people available – so if you would like to play, please email or text me and let me know (julie.scherini@amnet.net.au or 0419 904 264)

Match Reports

Aranmore Silver (Yr 3/4)
The girls raised the tempo in a fast paced game against Iona in their last game of the season however they were unable to catch the Iona team. I would like to thank the dedication and enthusiasm the girls bought to training and games and I hope they enjoyed the season as much as I did! A BIG thank you to Jen, our amazing, efficient and super organised manager. Finally, a very special mention to our star of the week, Amelia, who had a fantastic running game and lead by example not only as our captain for the day but consistently throughout the season with her effort & enthusiasm. Awesome season girls – see you next year!

Natalie

Aranmore Purple (Yr 3/4)

Congratulations to all of the Purple team who have finished their first season unbeaten, ending on Saturday with a close and exciting match against a good Swanbourne team. The girls all worked so hard over every inch of the court in defence and attack and it came right down to the last minute when a great intercept and quick passing the length of the court got the ball to Bethany Clarke who was able to score the goal that made the final result a win to Aranmore 8-7. Congratulations to Rebeka Waite who was our Star of the Week for Week 9 for her constant leading into space and to Bethany for Week 10 for her ice cool accurate shooting under pressure, especially in the last quarter. Well done girls on such a great match and a fantastic and fun season.

Dave & Paula

Aranmore Aqua

Girls had a great 4 quarter win to beat Floreat. Anna and Giovanna were brilliant in defence and Em and Sofia finally clicked in attached. Awesome work!

Phil

Aranmore Gold (Yr 5/6)

Aranmore Gold had a fantastic 2nd half to come from behind and beat St Hilda’s 18 -2. Great work girls.
