Principal’s Message

Jonnine Lamborne PrincipalIt is with great pride that I welcome you to the Aranmore Catholic Primary School website. We are an inner-city co-educational Catholic school community from Pre Kindy (3 Yr Olds) to Year Six, founded on the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy.

We strive to build an exciting and dynamic curriculum and learning experience, enabling our students to flourish in all aspects of their lives as we focus on educating the whole person. Having recently completed an extensive building program, Aranmore Catholic Primary students now have a new hall, modern classrooms, a large undercover area and a designer-built natural landscaped play area for our junior students. We also cater for busy families who require Before and After School Care with our Gumtrees OSHC facility on the school site.

Our staff are enthusiastic, highly dedicated and committed to nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social needs of our children. It is of great importance to us that our children are happy, feel safe and secure and experience success and confidence. Our learning environment is built upon a foundation where children belong and are valued and respected and where there is a focus on nurturing our children to become active, faith filled and responsible people.

Our students are blessed with many diverse learning opportunities both in specialist classes of Music, Physical Education, Library and Italian, as well as learning opportunities through our Extension program, Student Leadership, Band and Instrumental programs, Swimming programs, Tennis, senior Camp and Sustainability projects. Students with particular learning needs and disabilities are very well supported through such programs as Reading and Mathematics Recovery.

Technology plays a significant part in the life of our school with iPads, computers and smart boards in all classrooms and a state-of-the-art Learning Hub, which allows for 21st century learning to occur for all children as well as ensuring learning is exciting, meaningful, current and alive.

Our committed staff are supported by a vibrant and active school community involved in many aspects of school life. Strong parent-teacher partnerships are valued and we support the important role that parents have to play in developing their child’s potential for learning. This partnership is founded on a spirit of mutual respect, cooperation, communication and involvement. Families are welcomed into the school at all times and their contribution to school life is highly valued.

As a school community we are very proud of our school, our excellent facilities and the quality of our learning programs. In exploring this site, we hope you gain a sense of this and we encourage you to contact the school for further information or to arrange a tour so you can get a feel for what Aranmore Catholic Primary is all about – nurturing, learning today…leading tomorrow.
