COACHES REPORTS 22nd & 23rd June

YEAR 3 TEAM GREEN

It was another hard game against Sacred Heart Sapphires this week and we drew 3-3! With Audra back in the team after her stint on the sidelines with injury, we had the much needed height against a VERY tall opposition!

It was great to see everyone getting some intercepts this week. You’re all improving at reading the play and your confidence is growing. Kade played a great quarter as centre. His speed and agility are hard to beat! He had his work cut out for him in the last half as GK. His player seemed to be about 180cm tall but Kade kept him out of the play and was instrumental in keeping Sacred Heart to 3 goals.

Keep up the fantastic work, Team Green, you’re all superstars!

YEAR 4 TEAM GOLD

Another great game on Friday night saw Aranmore Gold play in their new-look draw against West Balcatta. The teams were very evenly matched with the final score 8 v 8. Well done to Josh Lucano in his very first netball game ever! All players worked well together and their teamwork is looking better each week.
Coach Lisa

YEAR 4/5 TEAM RED

Well done to you all winning the game 16-5 against Rosalie. This was a tough match up but our first half was amazing and really set up the game. We did miss Emmy, who was unwell today – so get well soon Emmy! A MASSIVE thank you to Olivia Pappas for filling in for us.
CIRCLE DEFENCE TEAM of Jack, Lexi and Bianca – you all were instrumental in our defence tonight – every one of you played the front position and resulted with many intercepts and also rebounds. Jack – your chase on the ball in the centre court really supported the flow of the game and your defensive pressure on their tall goal shooter was fantastic.
CENTRE COURT team of Bianca, Amalia, Evie, Olivia, Anabel and Jack – steady as always – you all move the ball on quickly but and you slow it down when we need. Bianca – you were a superstar to play 3 quarters as C, only getting a ‘rest’ at GD when you played on their tallest player! – your constant running, your passes into the shooters and your defensive pressure was amazing.
GOAL SHOOTING team of Tyler, Amalia and Anabel – getting better each week as a goal shooting team and Tyler – a great game tonight – your goal shooting gets better every week and I love that you steadied yourself and took your time – your second efforts with getting your own rebounds is great to watch!
Coach Jen

YEAR 5 TEAM NAVY BLUE

Aranmore Navy Blues played Churchlands Primary School this week. Weather was fantastic and the girls kept the ball down our end quite a bit in the first quarter. Churchlands were strong and more accurate this week. Maiah and Daria played well in defence together and was great to have Saskia back from her holiday!
Coach Kylie

YEAR 5 TEAM AQUA

Unfortunately team aqua had another loss this week, but this didn’t effect the great sportsmanship shown by our girls at the end of the game. One last tough training session ahead for the girls this week so we can try and finish this term on a win! (Fingers crossed)

YEAR 6 TEAM ORANGE

We scored our first loss for the season against a tough and TALL North Perth Dynamites.
Our first quarter was the only one that let us down – we went down 5 to 2. Despite my explicit instructions prior to the game to not do it – passing over the defence was our main error – did I mention they were TALL??!!!!
Despite this we kept them within contention and did manage to do some good things as well like leading away then back towards the ball. We just need to polish it off a bit more by running right to the ball rather than stopping and letting the defence come in front for an intercept.
For the last three quarters is was incredibly even and I was very happy with the way you all played. You went back to basics and thought about your leads and space on the court relative to each other. Everyone also worked really hard in defence. The last quarter was truly nail-biting as we came close to equalling the score. Unfortunately they ended the game 2 up but fantastic effort. We’ll get them next time 😊
