Aranmore cuts up the pool to win interschool carnival

Congratulation to our successful Interschool Swimming Squad in winning the Boys Aggregate Shield and sharing the win with St Columba’s Bayswater at last week’s “B” Division CPSSA Interschool Swimming Carnival.

Our squad of 31 swimmers competed against eight other schools for this year’s title. The competition was close throughout the day. Our team didn’t accumulate many individual 1st placings compared to the other schools; however we were consistently earning ribbon positions in all events. Winning 3 out of the 4 team medleys also kept us in the lead for most of the day.

Well done to all our swimmers. Your hard work with Coach Trish and the Aranmore Swimming Club has given great results. Most of our swimmers are members of Aranmore Swimming Club who have been training all year round and I encourage any students who are still interested in swimming to join up.

Thank you to Mr Sharpe, Mrs Soanes, Mr Gillam and Mr Garbenis for all their help on the day. Bring on the 2017 ‘A” division Interschool Swimming Carnival.
