COACHES REPORTS 29/30 JULY

Our netballers certainly experienced Winter Netball this week with very cold, windy and torrential rain happening for most games. A special mention to our youngest netballers, our Year 3 teams who have never experienced playing in conditions like that. I am really proud of all of them for playing through to the end of the game!   Well done parents for also battling the conditions, and their inside out umbrellas on the sidelines – watching in the rain is never fun!

ARANMORE TEAM GOLD

Team Gold played a top game in tough conditions to end up with a 5-all draw! All players tried the best all day in the wet conditions. Our player of the day was Jazabelle who never gave up all game despite not feeling well herself – Tope effort Jazabelle

ARANMORE TEAM SILVER

Well done Team Silver for playing out a tough game, eventually winning 7-5. Our player of the day was Evie Rowe, who came back to netball after a 4 week holiday and slotted back in to the team like she had never been away, her combination in the goal circle with Bianca was amazing and her goals, rebounds and passing in the circle was really great to watch. Well done Evie. Special mention to Bianca, Jack & Tyler who kept our momentum going in the shooting (Bianca), centre court (Tyler) and defence (Jack) – you all played excellent games and never complained!
Coach Paula

ARANMORE TEAM RED

Aranmore Reds played a hard fought game in the rain on Saturday morning. The girls came away with a win continuing their undefeated season! Awesome work girls!
Coach Jorje

ARANMORE TEAM NAVY BLUE

The Navy Blue Team must of been sea creatures in a past life because they played awesome this afternoon in the rain. We played Quintillion Primary School and won 11-8. Daria starred in the shooting position and everyone on the court played extremely well. So proud of you girls! All of us wet mummies couldn’t believe our eyes, superstars!! The girls have won 3 out of the last 4 games and smiling the whole time, showing such team work and loving the game.
Coach Kylie

ARANMORE ORANGE

The Year 5 Team Orange netball team scored very lucky this week considering the treacherous conditions. They WON on a forfeit from Chrysalis. All girls now looking forward to the final four games of the season.
Coach Lisa

ARANMORE PURPLE

The Purple Girls bounced back to the winners circle this week with a win over PLC. It was a pretty cold and wet day and there were times when some of the girls couldn’t feel their own hands. That might have accounted for the slow start, but I was very proud of the effort everyone put in over the whole game. Sara Robertson, Ainslee Tan and Sienna McCagh all had their best games for the season. But it was everyone’s persistence and hard work that saw enough goals scored in the end to get the win. Great effort in tough conditions.
Coach Dave

ARANMORE AQUA

On a wet and squally morning, Team Aqua fought hard to keep possession of the slippery ball and managed some good strong centre passes. With the same determination by Wembley, their players just pipped us to the post each time intercepting balls and driving the ball to their strong shooters, finally defeating Aranmore 9 – 18. Onwards and upwards to another round next week.
