TEAM REPORTS 31 OCTOBER

Well done to all our teams in week 4 of Spring netball – with some lovely Spring weather! I hear from your coaches you are all working really hard so keep up the good work – you are doing Aranmore CPS proud.

TEAM SILVER

A tough game for Team Silver this week against Swanbourne (9-5 loss to us). Although we didn’t score too many goals in the first 3 quarters, our defence down the court made it difficult for Swanbourne to get it in to their shooters to score.  I saw some fantastic leads into space and quickly-released passes creating some nice flow down the court into attack. Their defenders were very strong so it was a challenge to get goals. We need to work on getting out in front when we lead to the ball as we saw too many turn overs from us trying to pass through the defence.

Special mention this week goes to Tyler for some great listening!! We did some practice at getting in front of our player in the circle by doing a quick step out to the side and back in front. I saw Tyler execute this move perfectly during the game on a few occasions. Well done!! Another special mention to Alessia for her quick leads (just remember not to lead into one of your teammate’s spaces 😊) and her strong passes. I also thought Isabela worked really hard to try to improve her shadowing in defence. She got a few well-deserved intercepts.

TEAM NAVY BLUE

Aranmore Navy Blue played Sunshine girls for the 2nd time this season and what a big improvement.  Last game they defeated us by 5 this week we had a draw!!!

Awesome job girls

TEAM ORANGE

Aranmore Orange v Coolbinia – it was dubbed the Grand Final re-match and that’s exactly what played out! A tough game for the Aranmore girls, however they managed to fight back after being one down late in the game, to win by 4 goals. Special mention to Isla Buttigieg who was instrumental in shooting us back into the game.  Well done girls – a really satisfying game
