COACHES REPORTS 25/26 August 2017

Congratulations to our two year 5 and Year 6 teams who all finished their season off with winning games. Well done to all on a great season of netball you have represented Aranmore wonderfully well and we now look forward to the Spring competition. A massive THANK YOU to our coaches and managers who have kept the teams going so well all season.

ARANMORE ORANGE

Aranmore Orange Year 5’s finished off the season in style with a 14 v 2 win over Churchlands! The girls, who played out the final game with 7 players, were strong to the end with their 4th quarter being the strongest with Hannah and Eva Infirri scoring 7 of the team’s goals! The girls have played well as a team all season and represented Aranmore admirably. They should all be proud of their individual efforts as well as how well they combined as a team. Thank you for an amazing season girls!!! Thank you also to our umpire for the season, Hannah Fisher. Hannah has been a fabulous role model for our girls as well as being friendly, happy and encouraging every week. The girls will miss her.

ARANMORE PURPLE

The last game of the season brought lots of sunshine and smiles as the Purple Girls finished on a winning note against Deanmore in a second versus third match. Despite giving the opposition a 3-goal head start, Aranmore were able to claw that back by half time and then went on to extend the lead to record a 11-8 victory, which allowed the girls to leapfrog Deanmore and finish in second spot. Everyone had just about season-best games and it was so pleasing to see everything the girls had worked so hard on throughout the year fall into place for the final 4 quarters of the year. They should all be very proud of the effort and even more importantly for making it such a fun few months.

ARANMORE AQUA

Wow, what a ripper of a last game – a fantastic way to end the season – a win 9-12!! A beautiful (almost) Spring day was the perfect setting for some high intensity netball on the court, with some very animated spectators on the sidelines. The girls worked hard on court, from centre passes flowing through from our mid court stars, Eden, Katie, Charlie and Annalise to the girls in goals, Hayley, Ariyana and Tobie and when ball got to the other end, their goal shooters had little chance with the strength of the marvellous McCagh sisters and their great defending! Jessica wasn’t able to share our last game due to illness, but we’re sure she was cheering us on. Well done girls – a brilliant evolution this season … you worked hard all season, game after game – so proud of you!
