COACHES REPORTS 21/22 JULY

Welcome back to netball and to WINTER netball for all our teams – the weather conditions varied from cold, wet and windy or a combination to all three! Great effort from our Year 6 Team Aqua to have a comprehensive win first week back defeating Churchlands Aquamarine 29-7.

ARANMORE TEAM GOLD

Great effort from Team Gold who tried their best in tough playing conditions against Dynamites. Our player of the day for Alyssa Corkran for making some really great leads in the attack end – Well done Alyssa.

ARANMORE TEAM SILVER

Top job this week Team Silver!! After 3 weeks off, you all did so well to come out victorious against OLGC 7 to 4 in a tough, close game. It is wonderful to see you all thinking more about the things we practice such as moving away to space and then leading forward rather than standing still and crowding the passer. Thanks to those of you who made it to school on Wednesday morning for some training. I think it made a difference. It was really hard to pick a star of the week this game as everyone gave their best…… however, I am awarding it to Mattea for working so hard in defence – those long arms make it hard for the other team to get a pass away!! Also, Mattea and Jack had a wee bit of a head clash and both of them got up and played on despite being a bit shaken. Love your spirit
Coach Paula

ARANMORE TEAM RED

After a long break off netball the girls came back ready to finish off the season the same way they started it. They did this magnificently on Saturday, beating Newman 13-6! Special mention to Clara who was a super supporter on our sideline due to her broken wrist. She has shown fantastic team spirit since her injury and is going to be back playing with us this weekend! We look forward to seeing you back on court Clara!
Coach Jorje

ARANMORE TEAM NAVY BLUE

Coach Kylie

ARANMORE ORANGE

After a 4 week break, Aranmore Orange came out firing tonight! The girls played a great game from opening quarter to final whistle. They moved the ball quickly, intercepted well, created space and worked so well as a team. Mischa and Hannah combined well to score 15 goals with Eva and Eva, along with Robyn, keeping the Churchlands Team goalless. Mila and Amia worked hard in Centre court with Mia providing excellent feeding and support around the circle. Well done to all girls – a real solid Team effort.
Coach Lisa

ARANMORE PURPLE

The Year 5 Purple girls suffered another loss, this time at the hands of a very evenly matched Deanmore side, 13-9. The effort was for all to see as the girls rallied in the third to overcome a 5 goal half time deficit to draw level at the last break. They couldn’t keep the momentum going however and were overrun in the last quarter. Emma Rowse set things up with some great midcourt running while Isla Buttigieg was providing a great option at Goal Shooter. If the girls keep the effort going and continue to work hard for each other, then we’ll continue to progress and aim to reverse this result when we meet Deanmore next time.
Coach Dave

ARANMORE AQUA

Team Aqua were very happy to notch up their first win of the season and it was against the odds with two key players missing. Captained by Hayley, the girls came out flying notching up a 12-2 first quarter. The goals kept flowing throughout the game with a final score of 29-7. Congratulations on a wonderful win girls. Let’s keep the winning feeling going this weekend.
