Coaches report weekend 26/27 May

Well done to all our teams this week. We were blessed with fine weather (don’t get used to it!) and all our teams performed well. We saw our Year 3 Team Gold –come away with their first win for the season! Good effort Team Gold.

ARANMORE TEAM GOLD

Aranmore Gold had their first win of the season today! The girls worked really hard in getting front of their player for a pass and it really showed. Our player of the day was Adonia Papantoniou – great work Adonia

ARANMORE TEAM SILVER

In the words of Eden “We’ve met our match!!” ……. well it was a perfect match with Team Silver and OLGC finishing dead even at 3 a-piece. Some really tight defensive work from the whole team – especially Bianca, Jack & Amber – like an impenetrable wall!! Unfortunately, not as many of our shots dropped this week but we had it in our goal circle plenty of times. I love the commitment and enthusiasm of this team and the progress each week is fantastic as all the players try new positions. Our star of the week for this game was Amber Nardon for getting her hands up in defence at every opportunity. We got so many intercepts as a result. Well done!!
Coach Paula

ARANMORE TEAM NAVY BLUE

Aranmore Navy blues had a tough competitive game tonight….started with 7 players due to injury and sickness then Imogen hurt her ankle so we can had to call on the year 3s to come to our rescue…Olivia and Trinity thank you so much you helped us out so much and played so well…we appreciate it….the final score was 5-0 Floreat’s way….such a tall team, we fought till the end but just didn’t get a goal this week. Keep going girls.
Coach Kylie

ARANMORE TEAM RED

The year 4’s played a fantastic game on Saturday, beating the top team to secure a top of the ladder position. All of the girls put their skills they learnt from training into practice a nd made us very proud coaches! Well done girls!

ARANMORE ORANGE

Aranmore Orange played their hearts out to defeat Chrysalis 13 – 6 on Friday night. Special mention to Mischa, Hannah and Robyn who combined well in goals. The girls teamwork was awesome and their combinations are really coming together. They played well and showed great sportsmanship on and off the court. Well done to all 9 girls.
Coach Lisa

ARANMORE PURPLE

With the 3 weeks of grading finished, the Purple Girls started their season under beautiful sunny skies against PLC with a fantastic 13-2 win. It was a very even team performance, but Bethany Clarke stood out with her hard work in defence and plenty of interceptions. Sienna McCagh also defended brilliantly and Olivia D’Souza was a great captain in the mid court with lots of run. It was great to see the girls improve their passing accuracy which helped set up some really quick ball movement from one end to the other. Lots of improvement so far, but still lots to go!

ARANMORE AQUA

The start of the official season (after grading) kicked off a little shaky for Team Aqua. We are getting to know the positions where the team members best fit and girls are working on getting some synergies happening. The signs are looking good and this started to really show in the third quarter of our game, when everyone was warmed up and working together. Unfortunately Wembley managed to get lots of conversions and won the game by 8 points in the end. It was a great day for a netball game and although not a win, the girls enjoyed the game and are motivated for a stronger team performance next round.
