Coaches report weekend 19/20 May

This week saw some of our Aranmore teams play netball in inclement weather. With the Year 5 Team Orange match being abandoned on Friday night due to thunder and lightning halfway through the 3rd Quarter. Up until then the girls were playing great team netball in wet conditions. Our Year 3 and 4 teams on Friday night got their taste of wet weather netball and smiled their way through the rain. Our Saturday teams managed to stay dry for their games! Look how much fun Team Navy Blue had judging by their smiles in the photo!

ARANMORE TEAM GOLD

Team Gold played a very strong team in City Beach but the girls all tried their hardest in the wet conditions and we will continue to work hard on getting in front. Our player of the day was Trinity Maxwell.

ARANMORE TEAM SILVER

The downpour certainly didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of our young netballers this week. Great team effort to win 9-1 against North Cottelsoe Foxes. Fantastic first game from Evie Rowe who took to the centre court like a duck to water! Mattea did a wonderful job sticking to her player in defence (even when the GA made her way to our goal circle and was about to score a goal for us!!!! 😊) Star of the week this week was Neve Skuja for getting in front of her player to receive the ball in attack and to intercept in defence. Keep up the great work Team Silver – I’m really proud of your amazing progress.
Coach Paula

ARANMORE TEAM NAVY BLUE

The Navy Blues played their first ever wet game this evening. We were having so much fun jumping in puddles, laughing! We played very well but West Balcatta just beat us . The final score was 5-3 so the ball was up and down the court most of the match. Big mention for Maiah once again her defence was amazing but all the girl played well. Keep going girls the improvement is huge.
Coach Kylie

ARANMORE TEAM RED

Year 4 Aranmore Reds had another fantastic win on the weekend! The rain held off for us and the girls showed great teamwork and encouragement.
Coach Jorje

ARANMORE ORANGE

We played Churchlands Topaz on Friday night and despite a rough day weather wise the girls worked well to come up with a win against the conditions. Team Orange are combining well in goals and defence and its obvious all girls are enjoying ther netball! Keep it up Team Orange!
Coach Lisa

ARANMORE PURPLE

Winter finally arrived on Saturdays but at least it stayed dry for the Purple Girls third game this year. They were up against a new team in Newborough who tried hard, but weren’t a match for the Aranmore girls as we ran out winners 21-1. It was pleasing to see the girls all concentrating on some of the things we’ve been practicing at training. Ainslee Tan was allowed some space for a few shots at goal at GS, Sienna McCagh continues to develop her defensive skills and blanket out opposition shooters and Sara Robertson is regaining her zip and space finding ability through the midcourt. We now get to start the season proper this week and look forward to continue improving and developing as a team.

ARANMORE AQUA

Despite the rain and some very tired campers, Team Aqua came out fighting hard. It was close the whole game and in the 3rd quarter, scores almost reached neck and neck but the girls ended up going down to a tough opposition in Wembley. Some of the girls are trying out new positions and tactics, it’s great to see a willingness to move around the court to benefit the entire team.
