Coaches Report 9/10 June

This week saw all our netball teams return to playing after a long weekend break. They were all blessed with fine weather and we saw Year 6 Team Aqua play a nail biting 10 all draw. Well done Team Aqua.

Aranmore Team Gold

Aranmore Gold continued their winning streak with their second win in a close 8-7 against Rosalie. The girls never gave up and worked hard all game. Our player of the day was Olivia Pappas with some great goal shooting!

Aranmore Team Silver

A brilliant team effort from Aranmore silver this week to beat Mt Hawthorn 18 goals to 2. It is wonderful to see the girls & boys really getting the hang of the game and working hard in both attack and defence. Jack Saliacus deserves a special mention this week for his talents at both ends of the court. He demonstrated versatility with accurate shooting and formidable defence. He is our Star of the Week!!   Well done!
Coach Paula

Aranmore Team Navy Blue

Aranmore Navy Blues welcomed our 2 broken armed girls back this week… Sankara and Olivia! We were defeated by the Cottesloe cool cats. The final score was 14-9 and the team put up a great fight and improved our game once again….keep going girls.
Coach Kylie

Aranmore Team Red

Aranmore Reds played a fantastic game on the weekend to defeat the top team 9-4! We are now undefeated and on top of the ladder! Congratulations girls, looking forward to a successful second half of the season!
Coach Jorje

Aranmore Orange

Team Aranmore Orange continued to improve on their season and had another strong performance against North Perth Dynamo’s on Friday night. Mischa was our shooting star shooting 11 of our 19 goals with Mila being named in our Coaches Special Mention for her intercepts and improved awareness down the court. Mia had a very solid night out in Centre and was instrumental in many Centre-court plays. The team had a lot of fun and continued to impress and improve on previous weeks. Well done to ALL girls – you should be very proud!
Coach Lisa

Aranmore Purple

The Purple girls looked that they had forgotten how to play after having a week off and found themselves behind at half time against a quick and slick OLGC team. Eventually however the girls started to wake up and strung some passes together and slowly the goals came and the margin got smaller. The hunger finally returned in the last quarter and a 5 goal to nothing finish saw the Purple Girls snatch a 9-7 win. Bethany Clarke again led the way in defence and kept the team in touch after the first half. She was well supported down back by Jaime Burvill and Isla Buttigieg was fantastic when switched to attack and goal shooter in the end to get the girls over the line. Passing and running will need to be the focus the week.
Coach Dave

Aranmore Aqua

Our previous outing against Mount Lawley saw us receive somewhat of a thrashing but this time the girls held on for a draw. Team Aqua led all the way so it was an unfortunate end to a ripping game that had it all! Plenty of great rebounds and intercepts and a few sore bodies too. Great leadership from captain Ariyana who subbed-on mid quarter for an injured team mate. Well done girls. Let’s win this week!
