Coaches Report 23/24 June

Last week was our last week of netball before school holidays. I am sure all the players and coaches well enjoy a well earned rest before returning after the holidays. Well done to our Year 4 Team Navy Blue and Team Red on having a win last week.

Aranmore Team Gold

Aranmore Team Gold played another tough match against Swanbourne Seals. The girls tried hard but need to work on getting in front and making good passes. Player of the day was Renata who tried hard and had some great intercepts.

Aranmore Team Silver

Team Silver suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Sacred Heart (8-1). They proved to be very skilful in their passing and particularly intercepts. The first half saw us struggle to get the ball down our end with no good leads to space. A half-time pep talk saw some changes with players like Mattea, Neve and Amber working hard to make strong leads forward. Tyler, Evie and Alyssa had their work cut out for them in defence but also improved as the game went on, learning to shadow their players more closely. Jack provided some much-needed height and quick passes through the centre court and into the circle. Our star of the week for her consistent determination, excellent leads and quick passes is Bianca Gwynne. We are very lucky to have you in our team Bianca!!
Coach Paula

Aranmore Team Navy Blue

Aranmore Navy Blues played Freshwater Bay primary school on Friday. Another great win girls 9-7. Back to back wins so awesome! Everyone played well, defending and attacking is improving each week – keep going girls, so proud of you
Coach Kylie

Aranmore Team Red

Aranmore Reds continued their winning streak on the weekend and undefeated and on top of the ladder! They are to be commended for their effort on the court every week!
Coach Jorje

Aranmore Orange

Team Orange had a difficult game tonight playing the top of the ladder team. They tried hard and were goal for goal for 2 out of the 4 quarters. Special mention to Marcela and Mila who both played very solid games. Thank you to Isla for filling in for the team due to illness. Enjoy your break girls.
Coach Lisa

Aranmore Purple

The Purple Girls suffered their first defeat of the year, going down to a very polished Karrinyup team 17-9. Aranmore was jumped early and found it difficult to get into the game and create scoring opportunities. Bethany Clark and Jamie Burvill worked tirelessly in defence to keep the margin manageable. After quarter time the effort was much better as the Purple army started to work harder for their team mates, play in front. They all competed hard across the whole court and ended up losing the second half by just 2 goals. The effort put in by everyone after quarter time was fantastic and the whole coaching staff was very proud of the effort involved right to the final whistle.
Coach Dave

Aranmore Aqua

A great effort by all the girls in team Aqua this week. It was a passionate, fiery and fast game against Iona, with our team keeping in touch with only being a few goals down after every quarter. In the fourth quarter, we started with our largest gap of the game being 5 goals down … but the appetite for a win was top of mind for the team. Unfortunately, we thought we had a draw when the final whistle blew, but a sneaky goal on the scoresheet was missed and the girls learned of their one point loss as they caught their breath to congratulate their opponents. A great game to watch on the indoor court this week. Next game is a win!!
