Coaches Report 16/17 June

Aranmore Team Gold

Aranmore Team Gold faced a tough match against Wembley Downs 6. The girls definitely were outmatched and need to work hard next week. Player of the day was Nina Burvill who tried hard and did her best to stick with her player through the whole match.

Aranmore Team Silver

Another low scoring dead heat for Aranmore Silver against Kyilla (2 all). A tough game and great competition for our team, playing with no subs this week. The kids had to work very hard to get the ball to our shooters as the opposition were very tight in defence. Team silver also worked extremely hard in defence to keep Kyilla to only 2 goals in the first half. I saw some amazing shadowing and hands over the ball, making passing difficult for the opposition and even forcing a few held balls!! Bianca was terrific yet again in both attack and defence and Evie did a phenomenal job keeping the ball away from their shooters. Mattea did some fabulous assists to Jack who scored our 2 goals in the second half. Neve and Alyssa made some great leads in the centre court. Our star of the week goes to Eden Buttigieg for staying switched on for the whole game, making fantastic leads to space in attack and sticking to her player in defence. Well done Eden

Aranmore Team Navy Blue

Aranmore navy blue team had a gun of a game this week. Such a brilliant performance from every single player. Defending, intercepting passes and our goal shooters excelled. Final score was 15-1 Girls were so excited it made the disco a celebration party. It’s our second win for the year Special mention to Lailah who shot many goals and played the best game of her career.

Aranmore Orange

Aranmore Team Orange fought hard under trying conditions to rack up a win against MLC Tigers. Up against illness during the week, they netball mojo was a little off but they should be proud of how hard they worked and fought all the way to the end and managed a 10-6 win. Mia and Mischa combined well in Centre/Goals and Hannah had a solid game in GS and GK. Well done to all girls for not giving up.
Coach Lisa

Aranmore Aqua

Wow, what a game – fast paced and full of action for all four quarters. The girls came out blazing with three goals off the first whistle. Kapinara cottoned on to our antics and kept a close tab on our girls and managed to creep up, but not without a fight. We sported a few small injuries through the game, but with the dedication of all our girls on court – a fantastic effort by all with a super high scoring 21-all finish.
